Michael Miller
delivers powerful messages that penetrate the
minds of urban youth worldwide. His messages are
clear and simple, yet provocative and well grounded;
“it’s doesn’t matter where you
start, what counts is where you decide to finish.”
This scholar, motivational speaker, author, and
lecturer is acclaimed by Essence Magazine as “one
of future leaders of tomorrow.”
While Mr. Miller has distinguished himself as
a humanitarian and attained many accomplishments,
he had to overcome great challenges to be identified
as the voice of the new millennium. While attending
public schools, Mr. Miller was considered to be
LD (Learning Disabled) and a ‘troubled youth.’
He became a father at the age of 14, a single
parent at the age of 15, and was frequently detained
in the juvenile detention centers. As a result
of these situations, he dropped out of high school
at the age of 16. |

| However,
recognizing the advantages of education, he later obtained
a GED certificate and later college degrees. He received

set the national record as the first to graduate with
a 4.0 G.P.A. in three semesters from a community college.
After finishing his courses at BCCC, Mr. Miller attended
Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he graduated
Summa Cum Laude in 2001 in just three semesters. During
his undergraduate experience, he studied abroad at Oxford
University in London, England. He has been featured
in many publications including Black Issues in Higher
Education, Emerge, Black Enterprise, USA Today, BET,
and others. |
 |
| In a matter
of three years, he obtained his GED, A.A. degree, and
a B.A. degree from Morehouse College and set a national
record as the first person ever to do so. |
 |
| In 2000,
Miller was honored by Morehouse College as a Beating
the Odds scholar. He was recognized for his efforts
as a single parent, full-time student, and as a dedicated
father with up to $100, 000 to complete his matriculation
through the benevolence of Oprah Winfrey. Michael Miller
later received his Masters of Science in Psychology
and is now a successful PhD candidate. |
 |
| While enrolled
in the nationally recognized Young Fathers/ Responsible
Fathers Program, he received several honors, including
Personal Growth and Development, and Father of the Year.
He has received countless awards, including Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. Footsteps Award and Academic Achievement
of the Year. He was featured in the Who's Who Among
Students In America. Above all, he was named Motivational
Speaker and Writer of the Year by the Public Relations
Society of America. |
 |
| As a dynamic motivational
speaker, he is responsible for motivating thousands
and students and Adult Learners, where he travels extensively
across the country conducting lectures, workshops, and
professional development training sessions. |
 |
Michael
Miller has not forgotten his roots: he continues to
give back to his Baltimore community. He is the Founder
and President of the Beating the Odds Foundation,
through which students are mentored and awarded scholarships
to attend college to further their education. Miller
continues to be a beacon of hope by traveling extensively
to empower young people around the globe. He is the
